Inhibitions

There are many reasons why a smile might be inhibited. But often our teeth considerably influence the attractiveness of our smile or laugh.

Inhibitions due to unattractive teeth change the whole facial play of a smile, normally over a period of many years. People are aware of their “faults” and learn in a step by step process to cover them up when speaking and particularly when smiling. The movements of the lips are limited more and more and with this an essential part of the original naturalness of the smile is lost.

In every one of us there is a beautiful smile just waiting to be shown.

Men have yet another way of hiding unattractive teeth: with a big moustache! And it often applies that the longer the moustache, the better the faults can be hidden. After aesthetic improvement of the teeth – and after many years of having a long moustache – this is often then abandoned completely or at least trimmed shorter. An entirely new and noticeably younger-looking face is the result.

The usual dominance of the teeth when smiling is considerably diminished by the presence of a moustache.
