Smile analysis gallery
To enable you to make a better self-judgement, you can use this series of very different smiles and the analysis of them to get a better overall picture. Often similarities mean your own situation can be compared with one of these examples.
Photo 1: Age: 26 years – harmonious and near “perfect” smile
Photo 2: Age: 70 years – a harmonious smile in keeping with the person's age.
Photo 3: Age: 55 years – discolouration of old fillings (orange) and on the surface of teeth (shaded orange) as well as gold fillings (blue) are clearly noticeable.
Photo 4: Age: 58 years – discolouration of old fillings (orange) plus the loss of the correct tooth contours/size (blue) create a rather “untidy” picture.
Photo 5: Age: 21 years – tooth discolouration on the incisors (shaded yellow) and both incorrectly aligned dental axes (red lines) are the main features that spoil this otherwise harmonious smile.
Photo 6: Age: 18 years – tooth decay (yellow) as well as a shortage of space leading to teeth being bunched up (shaded blue) and therefore also incorrectly aligned dental axes in some areas (red lines) lead to a strongly inhibited smile.
